Mission
Committed to the safety of all Taos County residents by providing a secure and safe detention facility for Taos County Inmates.
About Us
Our Adult Detention Center is a 72-hour holding facility being operated under the direction of the Sheriff’s Department. The facility is a 24 bed facility. There are no visitation rights.
Currently, Taos County is contracted with San Miguel Detention Center, Santa Fe County Detention Center and Cibola County Detention Center for inmate confinement. On average there are 60 inmates transferred per month to the surrounding facilities.
Taos County’s Adult Detention Center works in collaboration with the various State agencies.
