Mission

Provide technical insight on maintenance projects.  To improve the working conditions with a safe environment and to better the working conditions for Taos County Employees.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of thirteen buildings and two parks
  • Addresses all safety issues and provides technical insight and recommendations related to determining building and grounds policies, goals and objectives
  • Plans, directs, and assists County Departments in identifying maintenance, construction, and remodeling projects
  • Develops construction proposals and makes recommendations on building projects
  • Prepares bid specifications for contracted projects
  • Monitors contracted projects
  • Acts as a project liaison between contractors and County Commissioners 
  • Develops and negotiates maintenance contracts for special facilities and/or services needed
  • Oversees department safety and risk management programs
  • Complies with federal, state and county safety standards
  • Assures all project operations comply with OSHA guidelines
