As many of you are aware the COVID-19 pandemic has found its way to our community and the numbers have risen over the last month. This virus has now impacted our Taos County family and seems to be affecting us in an aggressive fashion. I know that we all prayed to keep it at bay, but it was inevitable that we would have to deal with this pandemic at some point. With the rising positive COVID-19 cases in our community and in our organization, Taos County has decided to close the Administrative Offices beginning Tuesday, November 10, 2020 through Friday, November 13, 2020.By closing the Administrative Offices we hope to slow the spread of this virus as we allow employees the time to self-isolate and quarantine. Essential Departments (Sheriff’s Office, EMS, E911, Detention, Facilities, Solid Waste, Public Works and Fleet) will remain open. These are trying times for all of us and the health and safety of our employees and constituents is of the utmost importance. Again, I would like to reiterate that closing of the Administrative Offices is to help slow the spread of this virus and allow employees the time to self-isolate and quarantine. Please keep in mind that the only way for us to make a difference for the well-being of our families, co-workers and the community is for everyone to take a pro-active approach. This means, limiting our interactions with people and our outings to those deemed absolutely necessary. As always, please remember to stay safe and stay healthy.Respectfully,Brent JaramilloCounty Manager
