Provide technical insight on maintenance projects. To improve the working conditions with a safe environment and to better the working conditions for Taos County Employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Acts as a project liaison between contractors and County Commissioners
- Addresses all safety issues and provides technical insight and recommendations related to determining building and grounds policies, goals and objectives
- Assures all project operations comply with OSHA guidelines
- Complies with federal, state and county safety standards
- Develops and negotiates maintenance contracts for special facilities and/or services needed
- Develops construction proposals and makes recommendations on building projects
- Monitors contracted projects
- Oversees department safety and risk management programs
- Plans, directs, and assists County Departments in identifying maintenance, construction, and remodeling projects
- Prepares bid specifications for contracted projects
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of thirteen buildings and two parks
